Course objective (Applicability): DGS Solar Power PV Farm Designers are able to design, plan and quote for the installation of state-of-the-art industrial PV systems (roof-top and ground mounted PV farm)

Entry Requirements: Proof of professional experience in the field of photovoltaic or participation in the maxx DGS Solar Power Designer Course or entry exam.

Outline: The DGS Solar Power Designer PV Farm course is targeting participants who have an engineering background, since the focus of this advanced course is on the design and installation of PV farms and big-scale roof top PV. The functionality and components of PV above 100 KWp will be introduced and case studies will be exercised including the step-by-step calculation from the site visit to quotation. The course will be rounded up by a site visit. The course will be held by German DGS trainers with vast experience in PV farm planning, installation and operation.

Main topics: PV basics recap , PV farm components, PV farm planning (sun course, access planning, row distances, surveying, geological survey, yield prognoses, string concepts, earthing concepts, lightning protection), PV farm design (strings, combiner boxes, inverters, fuses, cable design), construction of PV farms (surveying, access, compound area, health & safety matters, construction technologies), commissioning and operation, fault finding and quality assurance
